The Veterinary Technician of the Year Award recognizes an individual who exemplifies excellence in veterinary technology, demonstrates outstanding professional achievement, and advances the mission and values of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA). This award honors a credentialed veterinary technician whose contributions elevate the profession, advance the veterinary technology profession, and inspire peers.

Nominators are encouraged to address the evaluation criteria reflected in the official scoring rubric and provide specific examples whenever possible as noted below.

• Demonstrates professional excellence through exceptional clinical practice, meaningful impact on patient care, or other significant contributions to veterinary medicine.
• Demonstrates leadership, advocacy, mentorship, or other meaningful contributions that positively influence colleagues and advance the veterinary technology profession.
• Demonstrates excellence through education, mentoring, public outreach, or meaningful engagement within the veterinary or broader community.
• Demonstrates innovation, creativity, or contributions that advance veterinary technology through new ideas, research, programs, or improved practices.
• Consistently demonstrates ethical conduct, professionalism, integrity, and a reputation that reflects positively on the veterinary technology profession.

In addition to the recognition, praise, and appreciation of NAVTA and its 9,000+ members, the winner will receive a free year of membership in NAVTA.
