The Rhode Island Veterinary Technician’s Association Executive Board members are pleased to announce Haylee Prescott, CVT as the 2025 Veterinary Technician of the Year. This annual honor recognizes a credentialed veterinary technician who exemplifies excellence in veterinary nursing, animal care, and professional leadership within the state of Rhode Island.
Haylee Prescott brings over 15 years of diverse veterinary experience—including wildlife, livestock, exotics, shelter, and small animal medicine—to her role as a CVT, Veterinary Team Manager, and Training Coordinator at South and Washington County Veterinary Hospitals. With a B.S. in Animal and Veterinary Science and additional training from Ross University, she has rapidly advanced through multiple leadership roles, transforming how her hospitals train, mentor, and support staff.
Haylee designed and implemented comprehensive onboarding and training programs that strengthened both team culture and retention. Known for her blend of technical skill and genuine compassion, she remains calm under pressure, detail-oriented, empathetic, and always ready to advocate for both patients and colleagues. Haylee truly embodies what it means to be an outstanding veterinary technician.
