Credentialed Veterinary Technicians Change Lives
October 13-19, 2024, has been set aside as National Veterinary Technician Week (NVTW) to celebrate, recognize, and promote the valuable contributions Credentialed Veterinary Technicians make to the veterinary profession and society.
Veterinary Technicians are integral players on the veterinary healthcare team. They are on the front lines, compassionately working with clients whose beloved animals need care. They work tirelessly in exam rooms, labs, and operating rooms, using their vast technical and scientific knowledge to treat and care for every animal species. Their broad professional and personal skills allow veterinarians to work more efficiently and effectively. And they do it all with love and a smile daily.
The 2024 theme, “Credentialed Veterinary Technicians Change Lives,” is a way to showcase how Credentialed Veterinary Technicians can have a profound impact, known or unknown, on the lives of their patients, clients, colleagues, and community.
NAVTA President Jamie Rauscher remarked, “As an LVT for the past 16 years and with over 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine, I have had the pleasure of working with countless team members, patients, pet parents, and members of the veterinary community. I have worked as a kennel assistant, veterinary assistant, LVT, medical/hospital manager, and practice owner. I have celebrated the highs and lows with my team and even my clients. I remember the mentors and teachers who helped me when I was new to the profession, and I hope that I can fill those shoes for the new team members I work with today. Every day, we have a chance to positively impact and change the lives of those around us, even if we never know we did. How are you going to change a life?”
Hill’s Pet Nutrition is the exclusive sponsor of National Veterinary Technician Week. In addition to providing funding for social media and public relations outreach, Hill’s field representatives will personally deliver NVTW posters and other goodies to their clients across the United States, ensuring nearly 5,000 practices are aware of and thanked for the great work that Veterinary Technicians do.
“On behalf of Hill’s Pet Nutrition, I want to express my sincere appreciation for everything you do for pets and for the families that love them. Veterinary Technicians are the heart of the veterinary profession. Thank you for your expert knowledge, your unwavering caring approach, and your dedication. Credentialed Veterinary Technicians do change lives!
