(September 1, 2026) — The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) is proud to announce that October 18–24, 2026, will be celebrated as National Veterinary Technician Week (NVTW). This year’s theme, “Credentialed Veterinary Technicians: Endless Compassion, Expert Care; Celebrating the Soul of Veterinary Medicine,” honors the essential role Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CrVTs) play in delivering skilled, compassionate care to animals, supporting clients, and strengthening the veterinary healthcare team.
“Credentialed Veterinary Technicians embody the perfect balance of endless compassion and expert care,” said Jennifer Serling, MVEd, BVSc, AAS CVT, RVT, VTES, FVTE, President of NAVTA. “Across general practice, emergency and specialty care, education, research, industry, public health, and beyond, CrVTs bring advanced knowledge, technical expertise, steady leadership, and deep compassion to every patient, client, colleague, and community they serve.
To bring this year’s theme to life, NAVTA will celebrate Credentialed Veterinary Technicians throughout National Veterinary Technician Week by spotlighting the many ways CrVTs make an impact within veterinary medicine. Through member stories, social media features, interactive campaigns, and recognition opportunities, NAVTA will highlight the compassion, expertise, and dedication that define the profession.
NAVTA invites veterinary teams, practices, organizations, educators, students, and animal health partners to join the celebration by recognizing the Credentialed Veterinary Technicians who make a difference in their workplaces and communities. Participants are encouraged to share stories, photos, messages of appreciation, and team celebrations using the hashtag #NVTW2026.
NAVTA is honored to partner once again with Hill’s Pet Nutrition, the exclusive sponsor of National Veterinary Technician Week. Hill’s representatives will distribute NVTW posters and appreciation materials to thousands of veterinary practices nationwide, helping ensure Credentialed Veterinary Technicians receive the recognition and celebration they deserve.
