Last month, NAVTA Treasurer Harold Davis was invited to teach at the University of Queensland in Gatton, Australia. Harold, along with two other VTSs and an anesthesia faculty member, certified two groups of fourth-year veterinary students in RECOVER BLS/ALS CPR.
Harold also lectured at the Veterinary Nursing Council of Australia’s (VNCA) 30th Annual Conference in Adelaide, attended by more than 600 veterinary professionals. Last year, he was made an Honorary Member of VNCA, and this year, he presented lectures on “Initial Assessment of the Emergency Room Patient” and “Nursing Management of the Urinary Obstructed Cat.”
Additionally, Harold was a co-instructor for the RECOVER BLS/ALS CPR workshop and a guest panelist during the closing session, “The Cat Walker Hour,” led by “Radio Vet Nurse” podcaster Cat Walker. Harold was joined for a Q&A by Amy Newfield and Leslie Wereszczak, a powerhouse trio of experience and international fame!
The VNCA Annual Conference lived up to its theme of “Celebrating Growth and Inspiring Excellence” by offering not just traditional lectures but also breakfast sessions, workshops, posters, and case reports. The conference also hosted several social activities, including a President’s Cocktail Hour and a formal dinner gala, both of which provided opportunities for networking and informal knowledge sharing.
