The Student Chapter of the Year award recognizes outstanding Student Chapters of NAVTA (SCNAVTA) that have shown exemplary efforts in promoting the field of veterinary technology/nursing. This prestigious award evaluates a multitude of factors demonstrating a chapter’s commitment to the profession, including their role in community service. The aim is to acknowledge chapters that not only enhance the educational and professional development of their members but also actively contribute to the advancement of veterinary technology and nursing through various initiatives.
The SCNAVTA Committee assesses each application methodically across several criteria. These criteria encompass the diversity and impact of club activities and events, particularly those focused on community outreach and the promotion of veterinary technology. Professional development opportunities provided to members are also a key factor, ensuring that they have avenues to enhance their technical skills and career prospects within the veterinary field. Furthermore, the committee examines the chapter’s efforts in advocacy and awareness related to veterinary issues and animal welfare, alongside their ability to establish meaningful collaborations and partnerships with other entities, thereby extending their impact beyond their immediate academic environment.
For the 2023-2024 Academic Year, the award is exclusively sponsored by Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets. This generous sponsorship has allowed NAVTA to offer the following prizes for NAVTA’s Student Chapter of the Year.
Nominations for the 2023-2024 Academic now CLOSED.
Please include a nomination essay (500 words or less) describing how your Chapter has met the above criteria and why you believe it should be considered for the NAVTA Student Chapter of the Year award.
