In evaluating candidates for this award, the SCNAVTA Committee considers a comprehensive range of critera. These include the advisor’s effectiveness in providing support, mentorship, and guidance, fostering a nurturing environment for students to thrive in leadership roles, and actively contributing to club operations. The assessment extends to how the advisor enhances educational experiences through workshops, lectures, and resources, and their role in managing club dynamics and fostering external collaborations. Furthermore, the advisor’s efforts in advocating for veterinary technicians, promoting the club’s achievements, providing individual mentorship, and impacting the community are crucial. Leadership qualities, dedication, and the pursuit of sustainability and continuity for the club also play significant roles in determining the recipient of this prestigious award, ensuring that the advisor’s influence contributes to a lasting positive legacy within the veterinary technology community.
